AKLAK AIR is a commercial aviation company based in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. The company was formed in 1994 as a joint venture of Aklak Air Ltd and Kenn Borek Air Ltd.
Between the operating partners we offer you over 55 years of Arctic aviation experience. Our goal is to provide our customers with safe, reliable and cost effective air service, wherever and whenever we fly.
AKLAK AIR offers scheduled flights service between Inuvik and Aklavik, Tuktoyaktuk, Sachs Harbour, Paulatuk, Ulukhaktok (Holman), Fort Good Hope, Norman Wells, and seasonally to Fort McPherson.
AKLAK AIR’s charter operations provide our customers with many options. We can provide you with fast and comfortable airstrip to airstrip travel, or get you to those hard to reach off-strip spots on tundra tires or skis.
All these flights are provided by our twin-engine turbo-prop fleet, maintained to the highest Transport Canada standards, and flown by dual flight crews trained in cockpit management, Department of Transport Instrument Flight Rating and in house safety program.
The Aklak Fleet
Aklak Air’s fleet consist of Beechcraft 90 and 99’s, King Air 100, DHC Twin Otters and a DC 3S. Our base maintains a minimum of four aircraft. Thru our operating partner Kenn Borek Air Ltd, we have access to more aircraft including one of the world’s largest Twin Otter fleets. This allows us to be flexible and quick in responding to contractual or seasonal demands.
Our fleet of twin-engine turbo-prop aircraft are maintained to the highest Transport Canada standards. All flights are operated by dual flight crews, trained in cockpit management, Department of Transport Instrument Flight Rating and adhering to a rigorous in house safety program.
